Larson LLP is pleased to announce that seven attorneys, including two Of Counsel, have joined the firm. Catharine Richmond joins as Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office, and John Wilkinson joins as Of Counsel in the firm’s London office. Brett Meyerhoff, Maria Fotiadis, Emily Orman, Janelle Sampana and Scott Levinson join as associates in Los Angeles.
Catharine A. Richmond is a former federal prosecutor with nearly a decade of experience handling complex criminal matters in federal court. She most recently served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California, where she focused on violent crime and child exploitation cases, and regularly led multi-defendant prosecutions and jury trials. Catharine’s work to educate parents, teachers and students about online child safety was recognized with the Homeland Security Investigations Prosecutor of the Year Award. She clerked for the Honorable Elwood Lui of the California Court of Appeal, and holds a J.D. from the University of Virgina Law School and a B.A. from Brigham Young University.
John C. Wilkinson is based in Larson’s London office, where he represents high-net-worth individuals, sovereigns, family offices, companies, boards, and institutions in complex cross-border disputes. He has extensive experience in fraud, asset recovery, sanctions-related disputes, regulatory defense, private prosecutions, internal investigations, and politically sensitive commercial litigation, and previously led a highly regarded fraud and asset recovery team at a leading City firm. John holds a Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course from the University of Law and a B.A. from King’s College London, University of London.
Brett Meyerhoff has experience across a broad range of legal matters including trademark infringement, antitrust exclusive dealing and monopolization, trade secret misappropriation, and breach of contract. Brett served as a law clerk to the Honorable Johnnie B. Rawlinson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He holds a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, and a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
Maria Fotiadis’ practice focuses on a wide range of high-stakes matters, including cross-border disputes and investigations, cybersecurity and data-breach issues, antitrust and consumer-protection claims, and civil rights litigation. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, and a B.A. from California State University, Northridge.
Emily R. Orman has broad experience advising clients on high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters across industries, including the technology and media and entertainment sectors. Previously, she was a litigation associate at two Am Law 50 firms and was part of a trial team that secured a complete defense in one of the largest acquisition-related stockholder challenges to proceed through trial. Emily holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from New York University.
Janelle Sampana brings extensive experience to her civil litigation practice from clerking at both the trial and appellate levels of the federal judiciary. She has clerked for the Honorable Salvador Mendoza, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Honorable Susan Illston, the Honorable Trina Thompson, and the Honorable Thomas Hixson, all of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Janelle holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from the University of California, Davis.
Scott Levinson’s experience includes securities litigation, merger-related disputes, white-collar defense, government investigations, and a range of commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Before joining Larson, Scott served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Cynthia Valenzuela of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and worked as an associate for a global law firm. He holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and a B.A. from Colgate University.
