Troy Tessem’s litigation practice covers a broad array of Larson’s complex civil and white collar defense matters.
His experience includes litigating high-stakes business disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, international trade and tariffs, antitrust actions, and insurance claims. He also litigates disputes involving equal protection violations and First Amendment retaliation claims. In his labor and employment work, Troy handles disputes concerning breach of contract, discrimination, wrongful termination, and other civil rights claims.
Troy represents Fortune 500 corporations, employers, mid-size companies, religious institutions, and individuals in state, federal, and appellate courts, often obtaining summary judgment or negotiating a favorable settlement on their behalf. Among his notable achievements, Troy was on the Larson teams that secured multimillion-dollar settlements for underinsured homeowners affected by wildfires and a family-owned business that was unfairly discriminated against in a government contract bid process.
During law school, Troy served as a judicial extern to the Honorable André Birotte Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and as an extern to Chief Justice Sam Rugege of the Supreme Court of Rwanda. He was also the Digital Media and Essays, Comments, and Reviews Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review.
Before pursuing his legal career, Troy worked in communications at the Wheatley Institution, a social policy research center that seeks constructive solutions to real societal issues, including in the areas of constitutional rights, diplomacy and dispute resolution, and ethics.
