Heewon Lee focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and white collar defense matters.
Before joining Larson, Heewon served as a law clerk to the Hon. Mark D. Houle of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. In that role, she drafted tentative rulings and orders and assisted with hearings and trials on bankruptcy cases under chapters 7, 11, and 13.
During law school, Heewon served as a judicial extern to the Hon. André Birotte Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and as an extern at the U.S. Department of Justice in the criminal division, fraud section, where she assisted in trial preparation and investigation. She analyzed the enforcement side of white-collar crime by drafting briefs on money laundering, accounting and securities fraud cases, and working with other agencies like the Securities and Exchange Commission and Internal Revenue Service.
Heewon also has an extensive background in accounting and tax matters. She studied accounting and technology entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland and interned at one of the big four accounting firms where she helped corporations overcome both legal and tax issues by researching tax laws and analyzing their application to specific situations.
In her free time, she enjoys drawing and painting.
