An associate attorney at Larson, Michaela Larson is on leave from the firm while serving as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps.
While attending Notre Dame Law School, Michaela worked as a law clerk in the office of White House Counsel, a research assistant for the Veterans Clinic Development Coordinator for the Military and Veteran Law Society, and a Staff and Articles Editor for the Journal of International and Comparative Law. Michaela participated in the Appalachia Externship program to assist the residents of eastern Kentucky with their legal needs and will be instructing a Trial Advocacy Class at Notre Dame Law School in January 2026.
Michaela is currently serving on active duty as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of Captain. Upon graduating from Naval Justice School in November 2022, Michaela was assigned as Trial Counsel at Legal Services Support Team, Camp Pendleton, CA, trying six contested courts-martial and becoming certified as a General Courts-Martial and Special Victim Qualified Lead Trial Counsel. In February 2024 Michaela deployed as the Staff Judge Advocate for a Special Operations Task Force in support of Operation Pacific Eagle in the Philippines. Upon returning in Fall 2024 she was selected to be an Auxiliary Counsel for the Office of Special Trial Counsel – West and then Special Trial Counsel.
Michaela is presently detailed to the Executive Office of the President at the White House.
