Clinton A. Ford Jr. focuses his practice on appellate litigation, complex civil litigation, civil rights litigation, intellectual property litigation, labor and employment litigation, and white collar defense. He draws on his unique experience with the federal judiciary and the private sector to effectively advocate for his clients.
Clinton also utilizes a critical approach to help clients parse through legal issues, navigate motion practice, and develop successful trial strategies.
Before joining Larson, Clinton served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Eleanor L. Ross in the Northern District of Georgia. In this position, he worked on a variety of cases—including civil rights, complex commercial, and intellectual property matters—and honed his skill in identifying weaknesses in legal theories put forth by litigants. Clinton gained valuable trial expertise through assisting with evidentiary motions, reviewing proposed pretrial orders, drafting jury instructions, and conducting preliminary jury charge conferences with litigants in both jury and bench trials. He was previously an associate in the Los Angeles office of an Am Law 100 firm, where he assisted clients across several industries with a broad range of employment matters.
As a law student, Clinton served as an executive managing editor of the Emory International Law Review and his student article was selected for publication. (34 Emory Int’l L. Rev. 2011). He further developed his legal writing and appellate litigation skills as a SCOTUS amicus brief writer for the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program. Clinton externed for Judge J. Michelle Childs in the District of South Carolina and Judge Yasmin Yanthis-Bailey of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also brings an in-house perspective to his matters from externing in the legal departments of Cox Enterprises, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company, Inc. Outside of his law practice, Clinton enjoys mentoring students and cooking food from different cultures.
