Founding partner Stephen G. Larson is recognized by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as a “Leading Commercial Litigator” for 2026.
The annual list recognizes litigators handling major matters in California, emphasizing attorneys who have helped shape the law, influenced an industry, or impacted the profession. Stephen’s profile in the special issue highlights his 10 years leading Larson LLP and the firm’s steady growth over the past decade.
Stephen currently leads a team representing California homeowners in two antitrust cases against the state’s insurance companies, asserting that insurers conspired to funnel policyholders in high fire-risk areas into the state’s insurance plan of last resort, the FAIR Plan. The substandard policies available on the FAIR Plan left homeowners significantly underinsured when they lost their homes in the 2025 wildfires that devastated neighborhoods in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena.
Stephen also represents Swaranjit “Mike” Nijjar, one of California’s largest landlords, in a countersuit against the city of Los Angeles alleging that the city failed to adequately address gang activity in an alleyway adjacent to one of his properties. “In the right circumstances, the best defense is to go on offense,” said Stephen, noting that the client has exhausted all other options to solve the issue with the city.
