Reflecting on Our First 10 Years

Larson LLP opened its doors in January 2016 with just 11 attorneys, two secretaries, and a paralegal.

Founded with my longtime friend and colleague Robert O’Brien, we shared a vision of a firm dedicated to guiding clients through high-stakes litigation across a broad range of cases and industries. We wanted to be the first call for clients facing litigation and trial, no matter the cause. We believed then – and do now – that the best lawyers are always tackling something different, sharpening their skills by confronting complex issues and distilling them for a judge and jury.

That vision quickly took shape. Our team expanded to 21 attorneys in our first year, and today we have over 50 talented lawyers in offices located in California, Washington, D.C., and London. The wins we’ve earned for our clients include some of the most recognized legal victories of the last decade, and we remain committed to fierce and confident advocacy on our clients’ behalf.

I am especially proud of the team we’ve built over the past 10 years – an all-star assembly of former federal law clerks, U.S. Attorneys, Federal Defenders, and lawyers with experience at some of the nation’s largest law firms. Our core values of mentorship and collaboration have helped us attract and develop attorneys who want diverse, substantial courtroom experience; our clients benefit from the intelligence, drive, and integrity these lawyers bring to their work.

We also recognize that being part of the legal profession carries a responsibility beyond our own practice. Our attorneys participate in and lead organizations that work towards promoting the rule of law, providing equal access to justice, supporting diversity in the legal industry, and responding to needs in the communities in which we work and live.

It’s with profound gratitude that I look out over the last ten years, shaped and supported by the clients, colleagues, fellow professionals, and friends who have been a part of our journey. We relish the opportunities and challenges ahead, and the growth and relationships that will define the next ten years.
