Partner Kori L. Bell is presenting during a webinar hosted by the Los Angeles Federal Bar Association (FBA-LA) on July 30 from noon to 1:30 p.m. PT.

“Taking the Steps to Federal Court” is a “nuts and bolts” program designed to aid both new admittees and attorneys with limited experience in federal court.

Kori, along with other prominent attorneys, will share her insight on the practical aspects of civil litigation in federal court. Her presentation, “Do’s and Don’ts of Appearing in Federal Court,” is one of three topics discussed during the webinar. The other attorneys lending their expertise are Scott Carlton of Paul Hastings, LLP; Susan Leader of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP; Chief Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California; Peter Morrison of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; Meryn Grant of Latham & Watkins LLP; and Judge Michael R. Wilner of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California; with introductions by Joshua Hamilton of Latham & Watkins, LLP. They are presenting a mock Rule 16 conference and a mock discovery dispute hearing.

The complimentary webinar is open to everyone and offers 1.5 hours of MCLE credit. Those who are interested in learning more about or brushing up on appearing in federal court are encouraged to attend.
