R.C. Harlan is a partner at Larson O'Brien. He has successfully litigated actions in state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as in private arbitration. R.C.'s practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, wrongful death issues, mass torts, complex business disputes, and various types of class actions. He has conducted several internal investigations of large and small companies related to governmental inquiries, including responding to investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and local prosecutors. R.C. is also an experienced appellate lawyer, having worked on appeals in state and federal court.

R.C. represents individuals and companies in a wide variety of industries, including clients in the high-tech, sports and entertainment, medical device, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. He has also represented numerous individuals on a pro bono basis, including successfully challenging a death sentence in Alabama state court and obtaining asylum for multiple immigrants who faced persecution either because of their sexual orientation or their political beliefs.

R.C. has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers, and has received several awards for his pro bono work throughout his career.

R.C. joined Larson O’Brien when the firm opened in January 2016. He previously worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Sidley Austin LLP, and Arent Fox LLP. He was also a clerk to the Honorable Boyce F. Martin, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. R.C. received his law degree from Boston University School of Law where he received cum laude honors, and is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College.
